Two techniques combine to make a snuggly warm and lovely scarf! Double knitting creates a double-thick scarf in stockinette stitch on both sides; it’s a great skill that quickly become addictive once mastered, as it blends ease with interesting work. The Fibonacci sequence creates a striking stripe pattern that’s reversed on each side, perfect for a scarf knit in your favorite team’s colors. As an added bonus, you won’t have a large number of yarn ends to weave in once the scarf is finished, because both colors are employed throughout the pattern.
Both techniques are fully explained and photo-illustrated, and a chart of the stripe pattern is included to help make it easy to keep track as you knit. Written for advanced beginner to intermediate knitters, required skills: long-tail cast-on, knit, purl, and binding off.
The pattern is available as part of a Knit Picks kit, or you can buy the pattern alone for $1.99.
